According to renowned sports journalist Matt Law’s recent tweet on June 14th, 2023, Manchester United Football Club has made their first official bid to Chelsea for midfielder Mason Mount.
The bid, reportedly amounting to £40 million, was confirmed by Law. However, Chelsea has swiftly rejected the offer for Mount.
Sources from Stamford Bridge indicate that Chelsea is holding firm in their valuation of the player, demanding no less than £70 million for Mount. Despite this, it is believed that Mount has reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester United and is eager to make a swift transition to the club.
The player’s future at Chelsea has been in doubt in the past few months as both parties are yet to agree on a deal that will see him stay at his boyhood club beyond 2024. Nonetheless, Mount will leave Chelsea as a free agent, if the Blues can not strike a deal with the player and if they fail to sell him.
