The entire Nation has been sweating over the past 12 hours and it has been all about the fitness of Victor Osimhen ahead of what can be the semi finals tie against rivals South Africa.
The tie has been tagged “Battle Of Amapiano”
The Nigerian star forward did not travel with the rest of the Super Eagles squad to their venue for the semi-final clash against South Africa which will be played on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Osimhen was declared not fit to travel because he had an abdominal pain which needed to be monitored before he could be declared fit for the match.
However, the news coming from Cote d’Ivoire is that Osimhen will join the team for training as they prepare for the game against Bafana Bafana. The team’s head coach Jose Peseiro had initially said during his pre-match press conference that he could not give an answer as it concerns the fitness of for forward player.
Nigeria beat Angola in the quarter final to reach the semi-final while South Africa defeated Cape Verde on penalties to set up a date with the Eagles.
