Nigerian music sensation Asake has reached a significant milestone by surpassing Burna Boy to become the artist with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
With his third album, Lungu Boy, Asake has debuted nine songs on the Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart, marking a historic 50th entry for him and solidifying his place in the chart’s history.
The album’s collaboration with Travis Scott, “Active,” has reached number one, while other tracks like “MMS” featuring Wizkid, “Mood,” “Fuji Vibes,” and “Suru” featuring Stormzy have also secured top spots. This impressive performance underscores Asake’s growing prominence in the music industry.
In addition to his chart success, Lungu Boy has enjoyed a commercial triumph, matching the record for the highest-charting Nigerian album on the Apple Music U.S. chart and reaching number one on the Apple Music U.K. chart. This achievement marks Asake’s third album to reach such heights, following his debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibe, and his sophomore album, Work of Art.
Asake’s consistent stream of hits has firmly established him as a defining star of this era, with Lungu Boy being his third album in as many years.
