The Nigerian music industry just keeps getting better by the break of the day. With the clear skies come brighter stars dominating the scene. Byran Bellz is making such a grand entrance into the music scene, without concern about whether the music stratosphere is tough or serene. He is here to stay and with his music, he is promising us an endless thrill.

Byran Bellz prepares for the release of his debut single titled “Godzilla”, a track meant to express street realities. He is is currently exploring his talents in making beautiful music. Godzilla was produced by Dia Beatz and was Mixed and mastered by SACi (Mr. Producer).

Who is Bryan Bellz?

Ibrahim Bello a native of Osun State was born and bred in the oil-rich city of Port Harcourt. He was born on the 26th of March 2000 and, the founder of 234hypes Hub. He is also the Head of ICT to the Galaxy Music Awards (GMAs) and, has always been a tech enthusiast and a music lover from a very young age.

Byran Bellz is promising to dominate the music scene with back-to-back releases. Fingers crossed.

If I was asked just how far this guy will go, how high he’ll fly and just how much success he’ll achieve; I’ll never be able to say for a fact. Why? Because his progression is so shocking. He sounds better and better with each new tune he drops. You’ll know a bright and consistent star when you see one. Just look at him, you’ll see a bald, dark and really bright star taking a place in the sky of stars.

It was destiny that brought him back from the brink of death. Like a jar of oil, he had only dropped just a few drops of his substance and how can he be taken so full? So, even death knew the world deserved all the awesomeness he is. Even after waking up after a 4 days coma, he didn’t stop working even when he was confined to a wheelchair. It’s been 2 years now since his accident and his growth has been astronomical, making me want to study the space he’s covered.

Anthony Ebuka Victor (Victony) was born on the 5th of January 2001. He chased his dreams down to Lagos and his dream will take him round the world. For this reason, Victony is our Man Crush this week

Rema adds 6 songs for ‘Raves & Roses’ Ultra as it becomes the most streamed Afrobeats album on Spotify

After over a year since releasing his debut album, Rema is back with the deluxe version he calls ‘Calm Down’ Ultra.

The ultra version sees the addition of six new tracks that take the album to twenty-two songs.

The new songs include the chart-topping and record-breaking ‘Calm Down’ remix feat Selena Gomez, ‘Reason You’ and ‘Holiday’ which he earlier released in 2023, and ‘Hov’, Dunno Freestyle’, and ‘Charm’.

‘Raves & Roses’ ultra was released on April 28 and it has officially made it the most streamed Afrobeats album on Spotify thanks to the inclusion of the Selena Gomez-assisted ‘Calm Down’ remix.

PHOTOS: TV series MTV Shuga premieres fifth season in Lagos

The fifth season of Shuga, the drama series produced by MTV, has premiered in Lagos.

The event united the cast, the crew, and the journalists on Thursday.

MTV Shuga’s new season combines an ensemble of established on-screen actors and rising stars alike.

Starred in the series are Adesua Etomi-Wellington, John Njamah, Tomiwa Tegbe, Maggie Osuome, Okey Uzoeshi, Gbubemi Ejeye, Genoveva Umeh, Ilooise Omohimin, Sharon Jatto, Lexan Peters, Bolaji Ogunmola, and Susan Pwajok.

Kanaga Eme of the BBTitans reality show and Chioma Edak will be playing lead and supporting acts respectively, having come through the MTV Shuga Naija public auditions in 2022.

Speaking at the premiere, Anita Adesiyan, the country manager at MTV Staying Alive Foundation, said the fifth season partners with Paramount, UNITAID, and the Global Innovation Fund to address issues on gender-based violence.

Also addressed in the series, she added, are such matters as COVID-19 vaccine confidence, women empowerment, modern contraception, and HIV self-testing.

“True to our ethos of promoting safer lifestyle choices and advocating against harmful cultural practices through entertaining drama, the new MTV Shuga Naija season will give our viewers a broader perspective on everyday issues that affect young people as they try to find their place in the world,” Adesiyan said.

The eight-part series is set for a May 7 African premiere on MTV Base (DSTV channel 322 and GOTV 72) at 21:00 WAT or 22:00 CAT.

In addition, the show will be simulcast on MTV Base in South Africa and debut on BET Africa (DSTV 129 and GOTV 21) at 21:00 WAT or 22:00 CAT from Wednesday, May 10.

Repeats of MTV Shuga Naija season 5 will air Wednesdays on BET Africa (DSTV channel 129 and GOtv 21) at 21:00 WAT or 22:00 CAT.

It will air on Thursdays vua MTV Base (DSTV 322 and GOtv 72) at 22:00 WAT or 23:00 CAT.

The series will also be broadcast on free-to-air platform NTA later in the year.

All episodes of the season, it us understood, will be available on Netflix and YouTube.

BOJ, Ayra Starr combine for ‘Line of Fire’ | Listen

BOJ, the Nigerian singer, has enlisted Ayra Starr, the songstress, for his latest single titled ‘Line of Fire’.

BOJ announced the release of the new song on his Instagram page. The singer also teased the second part of ‘Gbagada Express’, his latest album.

‘Line of Fire’ was produced by Spax and Sholz.

BOJ, whose real name is Bolaji Odojukan, is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Altè movement in the Nigerian music industry.

He formed DRB LasGidi, a music band, with Tobi Ajayi, Tobenna Ofili, and Ladi Lanre, while attending college in Worcestershire in 2007.

Earlier this month, BOJ released a sixteen-track album titled ‘Gbagada Express’.

The 28-year-old singer featured music heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, Fireboy, Tiwa Savage, and Mr Eazi.

Aki and Pawpaw takes on a new adventure in first Nollywood game

Aki and Pawpaw have added a new feather in their hats by becoming the first Nollywood characters to have their own video game.

Developed by Play Network Studio, in collaboration with Blueportal Software, the ‘Epic Run’ game sees the rambunctious duo go on an epic run in an attempt to escape trouble.

The pair appear to be voiced by the Nollywood actors behind these comic characters, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme.

Charles Okpaleke first announced the game in 2021 writing,

“We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by @playnetworkafr and @playnetworkstudios..”

His studio acquired the rights to the Aki and Pawpaw brand back in 2021 and produced a remake of the Aki And Pawpaw movie which was released in the same year. The movie opened with ₦30 million before landing a licensing deal with Netflix.
