Singer, songwriter and performer Akanbi Bamidele Brett, who is popularly known as Cheque, recently found himself at the centre of a social media storm after a video, which has since been deleted, triggered strong reactions from his fans, an incident that led to Cheque issuing a public apology to the award-winning singer, Davido, on his social media platform, today, Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Questions had surrounded the reason for this apology as numerous speculations indicated that the singer had shared a now-deleted video many had considered disrespectful to the wife of Davido, Chioma.

His apology read:

Never meant any form of disrespect to Davido. baba has been there for me anytime I need am, even on zoom remix. I no just just reason am well before posting. Thank you and love you big bro .. OBO
