The Afrobeats star Davido continues his streak of collaborations in 2024.
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has announced an upcoming collaboration with the renowned Beninese-French singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo.
Since releasing his fourth studio album, Timeless, in March 2023, the leader of 30BG, Davido, hasn’t released a solo single but has been actively featured on several tracks. This year alone, he has already appeared in four collaborations, including fan favorites like “Twe Twe (Rmx)” with Kizz Daniel and “Ogechi (Rmx)” with Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel.
Following their successful collaboration on the Timeless album with the track “Na Money,” which also featured the highlife duo The Cavemen, Davido and Kidjo are set to excite their fans once again with a new song titled “Joy.” The track is produced by Shizzi, a renowned music producer and long-time friend of Davido.
On Monday, August 26th, 2024, both artists took to social media to announce the release of “Joy,” which is set to drop on Friday, August 30th, 2024. They shared that the song holds a special place in their hearts. Davido wrote:

Expressing her excitement about the collaboration, Angelique Kidjo shared on her Instagram page:
