Flight Cancellation and Financial Loss

Skales had arrived at the airport on time, ready to board his flight, when he was informed that the flight would not take off due to the illness of the pilot. Visibly upset, the singer took to social media to vent his anger, sharing his boarding ticket as proof of his intention to fly. He also revealed that he had been paid N15 million to perform at the event, money that he would now potentially lose due to the airline’s cancellation.

“Horrible Customer Disrespect”

In his posts, Skales didn’t hold back, criticizing Green Africa Airlines for what he called “horrible customer disrespect.” He questioned why the airline had waited until the last minute to notify passengers about the pilot’s health, asking, “Didn’t they know the pilot was sick before we got to the airport?” His frustration grew as he described how both he and his team were left stranded, with no clear solution in sight.

A Broader Critique of the Airline Industry

Beyond his personal inconvenience, Skales expressed a deeper disappointment, reflecting on the broader state of affairs in Nigeria. Feeling “speechless” and “hopeless,” the singer lamented the lack of reliability and competence in services like Green Africa Airlines, even wondering if there is “no hope for Nigeria” in his social media posts.

Seeking Compensation

With Skales and his team left stranded, the singer has made it clear that he is seeking answers and compensation for both the inconvenience and financial loss caused by the flight cancellation. Whether the airline will respond to his complaints remains to be seen, but the incident has certainly put a spotlight on customer service issues within the Nigerian airline industry.
