Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry has revealed two players he would have relished sharing the pitch with during his illustrious playing career: Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.
Henry, who enjoyed an extraordinary career featuring spells with Arsenal, Barcelona, and the French national team, played alongside some of football’s greatest names, including Lionel Messi, Zinedine Zidane, and Dennis Bergkamp. However, the Premier League icon admitted that playing alongside two of Chelsea’s most iconic strikers would have been a dream partnership for him.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry opened up about his admiration for Drogba and Anelka, highlighting how their unique styles would have complemented his game perfectly.
“You’ve two players who I would have loved to play with in the Premier League—Drogba and Anelka. I saw [Drogba] the other day, and we were actually talking about it. We sat down at the airport, and I was like, ‘Can you believe it if we played together?’”

Henry described how Drogba’s physical presence and tendency to stay central would have made them a lethal duo.
“He didn’t like to go too much out of that area, and I was more of a mover, a bit everywhere. It would’ve been a bit of a problem [for defenders],” he explained.
