Timaya enlists Olamide, Tiwa Savage in ‘Gladiator’ album

Nigerian singer and songwriter Timaya has released his highly anticipated album Gladiator.

The album, which dropped in the early hours of Thursday, showcases the 44-year-old Port Harcourt-born artist collaborating with both international and Nigerian talents. Among the global artists featured are Mr Killa, a singer from Grenada; Jamaican artist Konshens; and Ghanaian musician Eugy Official. On the Nigerian front, the album includes contributions from Olamide, Phyno, Tiwa Savage, and the fast-rising star Alpha P.

Gladiator is a 13-track project with songs titled “Payback,” “Treasure,” “Free,” “Whinin Criminal,” “In My Head,” “Dey Your Dey,” and “Smile.” The album also features tracks like “Live-style,” “Sweet Us,” “Composure,” “Blessing,” “Na Money,” and “Get My Money Right.”

Speaking about Gladiator, Timaya described the album as “a statement of resilience and strength.” He explained that the project delves into themes of love, success, and empowerment, offering listeners a journey through various emotions and experiences.

“Gladiator is more than just an album; it is a statement of resilience, strength, and musical prowess,” Timaya said. “Known for his unique voice and infectious rhythms, Timaya takes listeners on a journey through various themes, from empowerment and success to love and celebration. The album features a stellar lineup of collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, adding depth and diversity to the project.”

Gladiator marks Timaya’s ninth studio album. Born Inetimi Timaya Odon, the musician first rose to fame in 2005 with his hit single “Dem Mama.” He is also the founder of DM Records Limited, a label that has nurtured stars like Patoranking and Runtown.
