Indomitable Lions of Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar, expressed his displeasure at his team’s disappointing defeat to Nigeria.
Cameroon exited the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after a 2-0 defeat to rivals and neighbors, Cameroon in their Round of 16 contest.
The indomitable Lions dominated possession in the game but failed to register a shot on target.
Aboubakar made his first appearance of the competition just coming from an injury he suffered pre tournament.
Aboubakar couldn’t hide his disappointment after the agonising loss to the Super Eagles.
“The feeling can only be negative. Today we found an even tougher opponent. You know that Nigeria isn’t an easy team,” Aboubakar told reporters.
“Cameroon dominated in terms of possession but small errors cost us the match. It’s football; there’s nothing we can do about it.
“We will just get up and prepare for the next games. It’s sad that now we will be spectators of the AFCON.”
