Popular Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, recently took to social media to share the names of Nigerian celebrities who stood by him during his time in prison. Bobrisky, who regained his freedom on August 5, 2024, after spending six months in incarceration, expressed his deep gratitude to those who supported him both emotionally and financially during his challenging period.
Bobrisky’s imprisonment came after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured his conviction on April 5, 2024, on four counts of naira abuse. The charges stemmed from his actions of spraying the naira at a party, an act considered illegal under Nigerian law. Following his release, Bobrisky used his platform to advise Nigerians to adhere to the law to avoid similar consequences.
In his heartfelt post, Bobrisky expressed his appreciation to a list of celebrities who he said contributed millions of naira to help him during his time in need. Among those mentioned were some of the biggest names in Nigerian entertainment and sports, including Don Jazzy, Eniola Ajao, Victor Osimhen, Funke Akindele, and Tonto Dikeh.
Bobrisky wrote, “Few people that know me know I love to appreciate favor. There’s this popular saying that if you thank people who were there for you today, you will get another one when you need them. God bless you all for standing up for this little child. God bless you. There are still good people.”
In his detailed post, Bobrisky listed the contributions made by these celebrities:
-Don Jazzy: ₦4,000,000
-Victor Osimhen: ₦3,000,000
– Eniola Ajao: ₦6,000,000
– Funke Akindele: ₦2,500,000
– Tonto Dikeh: ₦1,000,000
– Tiwa Savage: ₦2,500,000
Bobrisky emphasized that he could not fully express his gratitude in just one post. He dedicated a separate message to the women in his life, who he said played a crucial role in his support system. He stated, “Women rule the world. I’m going to be appreciating this first set of 10 women in my life. I wish Instagram could allow me to post you all at once, but it’s fine. I’m posting the next sweet souls after this. You all are the real definition of friends.”
Bobrisky’s outpouring of gratitude highlighted not only the financial support he received but also the emotional and moral support that kept him going during his time behind bars. He assured his supporters that their kindness and generosity would not be forgotten, and he prayed that they would be blessed for their contributions.
