Israel Adesanya, the style bender, may face a three-month prison sentence as he admitted to consuming alcohol in his hometown of New Zealand. This occurred on August 19, 2023, when Adesanya was stopped by the police and discovered to have 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood in his system, exceeding the legal limit of 50 milligrams in New Zealand. He said;
I want to apologize to the community, my family and my team for the decision I made to get behind the wheel after drinking at a dinner. I am disappointed with my decision to drive, it was wrong. I know that people might follow me and I want them to know I do not think this behavior is acceptable.
According to ESPN reports, the MMA fighter is scheduled to return to court on January 10, 2024, for his sentencing, where he may potentially be subjected to a fine of up to $2,680 and/or a three-month jail term.
